Deck and Dock Staining

Over the years the sun ate right through the deck stain on our dock boards, leaving the wood raw, splintery, and bleached out like driftwood. Bill came out, power washed the salt crust off, let the timber dry out completely, and rolled on a solid coat of timber stain / sealant. The difference in the grain color is wild—looks like fresh lumber again, and water rolls right off the deck when we wash down the boat. Good honest work, showed up on time, and didn't leave a single drop of stain on our lift cables.

Last guy who stained our deck just sprayed right over damp wood, which meant it peeled off in big ugly strips within six months. AHCM actually took the time to do the prep right. They scraped off the flaking mess, sanded everything down, and put down a deep-penetrating stain that actually soaked into the wood. Two seasons in with heavy saltwater spray and zero flaking. Worth every dime.

Our outdoor dining pier takes a beating from hundreds of patrons walking in wet deck shoes, plus grease spills around the outdoor bar. AHCM handled the staining overnight between shifts. They used a commercial finish with a slight non-skid grit built in so nobody slips when coming off their boats. The timber tone looks warm under our lighting, and ketchup or beer spills wipe off with a rag now instead of soaking into the grain.

We were picky about matching the dock stain to our existing teak patio furniture, but Bill brought out samples and nailed the shade. 2 weeks later his crew was out hear getting started and super careful around our stainless steel cable railings and didn't leave any lap marks along the long walkway boards. Walkways look uniform from the top all the way down to the kayak launch. Very happy with work!
